Lake Wylie is a 12,445-acre lake located 17 miles southwest of Charlotte, surrounded primarily by Mecklenburg County, N.C., and York County, S.C. Waterfront Developments Mecklenburg County Riverpointe - Architectural controls have helped create a beautiful lakeside community on the North Carolina side of the lake. It offers exclusive homes on the lake with gorgeous views. Amenities include swimming, tennis and community boat docks. The Palisades - Also underway in the Steele Creek area is The Palisades, where 2,000 plus homes will sprout along the shores of Lake Wylie off N.C. 49 in the next decade.
